At the ongoing CES 2018 in Los Vegas, Sony Electronics has launched first new devices of 2018. Though, design-wise none of them contains current trend of bezel-less Full view display. At the event, the company has launched 3 new Xperia lineup – Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra, and Xperia L2, among them Xperia XA2 and Xperia XA2 Ultra are mid-range devices whereas Xperia L2 is a low-end device.
Though the design looks pretty similar to their predecessors, some changes could be seen. For example, the rear camera has moved to the top-center of the phone from the left-top corner. Similarly, the fingerprint scanner also moved to the rear of the phone.
Xperia XA2
It has a 5.2-inches Full HD display, with borderless design, taking the screen right to the edge, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. Xperia XA2 is composed of anodized aluminum on the sides, with a diamond-cut finish on the top and bottom, accentuating the industrial beauty of metal.
Inside, it packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. To back up the internals, it has a 3,300mAh battery with Sony smart charging technology. That is the Smart Stamina extends usage during the day, with Battery Care and Qnovo Adaptive Charging ensuring the battery stays healthy over time.
It packs a 23-megapixel rear camera at the rear, with 4K video recording and 120fps slow-motion video capture feature. While the front facing 120-degree super wide-angle 8-megapixel camera is placed the selfies.
Xperia XA2 will be available for Single SIM and Dual SIM in select markets, in four fresh colors: Silver, Black, Blue, and Pink.
Xperia XA2 Ultra
Similarly, the Xperia XA2 Ultra sports a 6-inch Full HD display, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. With the same 23-megapixel camera, it also can record in 4K with 120fps slow motion capacity.
Inside, it packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage, expandable storage option. To back up the internals, it has a 3,580mAh battery with Sony smart charging technology similar to Xperia XA2.
It will be available in Single SIM and Dual SIM in select markets, in four contemporary colors: Silver, Black, Blue, and Gold.
Xperia L2
The Xperia L2 is the entry-level smartphone, among these three (3). It features a 5.5-inch HD screen, with 1280X720 pixel resolution. It is powered by 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, expandable using microSD card.
There is a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The phone features a fingerprint sensor on the back, same as XA2-series. It runs Android 7.1 Nougat operating system and is backed-up by a 3,300mAh battery.
The Xperia XA2 and XA 2 Ultra will be available from February 2018, while L2 will be available in late January. However, the price of these devices has not been revealed yet.
