The Xiaomi adds a couple of new members in the Redmi family. Xiaomi launched the Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite smartphones in India, targeting the youth audience. Though, both the Redmi Y1 and Y1 Lite are budget smartphones, the 16-megapixel front camera is one of the biggest highlights of Redmi Y1. So, here are the specs, availability and the prices of Xiaomi Redmi Y1 & Redmi Y1 Lite.
Xiaomi Redmi Y1
The company has priced the phone at Rs. 14500 (IC 8,999) only for the 32GB variant with 3GB of RAM. And also, there is another spec bumped Redmi Y1, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage, which will cost you Rs. 17,600 (IC 10,999) only.
As we already mentioned, the 16-megapixel front facing the camera, with LED flash, is the major highlight of this phone. However, talking personally, I am not a fan of LED flash at front. The company is also touting the Beautify 3.0 feature on it, which helps beautify selfie photos. It bears a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel.
The phone is 5.5-inch tall, with the 1280X720 pixel of resolution, protected with Corning Gorilla Glass. Inside, the phone is powered by Octo-core Snapdragon 435 SoC, alongside with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM. Similarly, the storage is available in either 32GB or 64GB variant and have a dedicated microSD card slot, which supports up to 128GB cards. It has standard connectivity options, including 4G VoLTE and powered by a 3080mAh battery. It weighs 153 grams and measures 153×76.2×7.7mm

Redmi Y1 Lite
The Redmi Y1 Lite also has a 5.5-inch 1280X720pixel display and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 at the top. The phone packs, Quad-core Snapdragon 425 SoC coupled with 2GB of RAM. To store your media files the phone packs 16GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD card.The phone will be available in 2GB RAM and 32GB storage variant only, which is priced at Rs. 11,200 (IC 6,999) only.
In the optics department, the phone has a 13-megapixel camera at the rear and 5-megapixel for the selfie shooter and no LED flash.
It has standard connectivity options, including 4G VoLTE and powered by a 3080mAh battery. However, the Redmi Y1 Lite lacks the fingerprint scanner and other sensors are similar to Redmi Y1.
