Both the Redmi Note 3 and Note 4 had been popular among the customers. Backing on same success, Xiaomi is working on the Redmi Note 5. There are rumors that the Chinese smartphone maker will be launching two variant of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. The device rumored to have the display with 18:9 aspect ratio and the recently leaked renders how the device might look. The rear looks very identical to the Redmi Note 5A with the slight curve on the sides, the plastic shin, and forehead but there’s also a dual camera setup this time around. The phone will have a 16MP+5MP camera on the rear and on the front an upgraded 12MP camera.
One of the major talking points of the new Redmi Note 5 specs leak is the processor. According to the latest set of leaks, the Redmi Note 5 is expected to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, bringing upper mid-range specs to the budget segment for the first time. The leaked specs sheet was first spotted on Chinese social networking site Weibo, with the reference to Snapdragon 660.
The Snapdragon variant of the Redmi Note 3 featured the powerful Snapdragon 650 processor. Snapdragon 660 gains in terms of power and efficiency when compared to the Snapdragon 65x series. It would be fitting for the Redmi Note 5 to feature Snapdragon 660.
Nevertheless, rounding up the specs sheet, the Redmi Note 5 is reported to come in 3GB and 4GB memory variants, with 32GB and 64GB of storage respectively. A 5.5-inch full HD display, fingerprint sensor, 4,000mAh battery, dual SIM with 4G VoLTE support are other remaining aspects that have been revealed.
Xiaomi is expected to price the 3GB RAM and 16GB storage variant of Redmi Note 5 at 999 Yuan (Approx Rs 9999) and 1299 Yuan (Approx Rs 12813) for the 3GB RAM 32GB storage variant. There could be a 4GB RAM variant with 64GB storage, that is rumored to cost 1699 Yuan.
