Xiaomi seems to be trending these days, we have already seen quite good smart devices from them at a very competitive price. Now, after the success of Xiaomi Redmi 4 series (Redmi 4X and 4A), the company is about to launch the successor pretty soon. Some leaks regarding the Redmi 5’s pics and specs were on the surface a few days ago.
If leaks are to be believed, the Redmi 5 will have different variants; Snapdragon 625 variant and Snapdragon 630 variant. With the different processors, RAM included on the device will also be different according to the chipset. With the both variants featuring 1080p FHD IPS display, which is something to look for given not much of the budget friendly device features FHD display.
Rumors have speculated that the variant with Snapdragon 625 will be clocked at 2.0 GHz and 3GB of RAM. Whereas variant with Snapdragon 630 will be clocked with 2.2 GHz and 3GB/4GB of RAM.
Talking about the storage, 3GB variant will have 16/32GB internal storage and 4GB variant will have 32/64GB. Of course, they will have storage expandable capabilities too, via microSD card. Both the variants will have 3680mAh battery, which is smaller than that of Redmi 4 which was 4100mAh capacity battery.
On the optics department, both the device will have 16 MP camera with dual-tone LED flash and phase detection autofocus on the rear, while the front camera is believed to come in at 5 MP. Both the variant is anticipated to be launched in Q3 2017 or early Q4, with time putting somewhere in October.
Expected Price of the Redmi 5 variants:
Snapdragon 625 version
- 3 GB RAM + 16 GB storage version start at 859 yuan (~$125 / Rs. 13,500)
- 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage version of it is said to cost 1039 yuan (~$155 / Rs. 16,500)
Snapdragon 630 version
- 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage, 1099 yuan (~$160 / Rs.16, 800)
- 4 GB RAM + 32 GB storage 1199 yuan (~$175 / Rs. 18,400)
- 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage 1299 yuan (~$190 / Rs. 20,500)
The above-mentioned price (Nepali Rupees) is calculated on the fair exchange rate. However, we all know how Vatsal Impex will tag the price.
Nevertheless, from the pricing point of view, we can see that the Xiaomi Redmi 5 will be another phone which will be Budget friendly with decent specs, hopefully.
