Xiaomi launched the Redmi 5, the successor of Redmi 4, in last December. The company initially offered the Redmi 5 in a couple of variants, 2GB RAM+16GB storage, and 3GB RAM+ 16GB storage, but on last Thursday the company began shipping a Xiaomi Redmi 5 4GB RAM in the home country.
The Redmi 5 has a 5.7-inch HD+ LCD, 18:9 aspect ratio display. Under the hood, the Redmi 5 pack a Snapdragon 450 octa-core SOC featuring a cluster of Cortex-A54 cores clocked at 1.8GHz and an Adreno 506GPU.
On the optics department, the Redmi 5 has a 12-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus and LED flash at the rear, featuring geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, and panorama. Similarly, the phone packs a 5-megapixel shooter for the selfies.
The phone runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box. To back up the internals, it comes with 3300mAh battery, supports the quick charge. It will be available in Black, Gold, Light Blue and Rose Gold color option. Sensors include fingerprint, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass. Similarly, connectivity includes 3G/4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Infrared and Micro USB 2.0. Talking about the pricing, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 4GB RAM variant will cost 1099 Yuan which is equivalent to Rs. 18,000 only.
The Redmi 5 will arrive in these flavors:
- 2 GB RAM / 16 GB ROM — ¥799 (~Rs.12500)
- 3 GB RAM / 32 GB ROM — ¥899 (~Rs. 14000)
- 4 GB RAM / 32 GB ROM — ¥1099 (~Rs. 18,000)
