We tweet every day, every hour, every minute and every single second but 140 characters at once. Sometimes it’s good because it has help people to minimize the words as possible i.e. to improve their writing skills.
What if Twitter cuts down the character limit? What if they allow the users to type as much they want?
Recent rumors suggest that the company is going to bring the change on 19 September 2016, at least The Verge thinks so. The company will cut down on exactly which types of content count toward the platform’s 140-character limit. Now, everything typed is counted but after the update, only the character other than @username and photos will only count. However, the links seem to be counted as characters but with Twitter shortening all links regardless, this is less of an issue. It’s unclear whether all of these changes will occur simultaneously; certain content types may gradually stop counting against the character limit in stages.
I personally think that the 140 words count is the thing that makes Twitter different than other social networking media. If Twitter increases the count, it will certainly loose the charm. But, we have to wait some time to see the changes.
Till then do not forget to comment how you feel about the changes that Twitter is going to make, in the comment box below.
