After last year’s incident with the Galaxy Note 7, we expected that it will be a very difficult for Samsung to roll up again. However, if we see the recent stats, the sales figure has rocketed.
The latest flagship from the company, Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus sales cross 20 million units sometimes last months. Moreover, the report from “The Investor” claims to ship 278,000 Galaxy s8 and S8 Plus per day on an average since their launch in April.
Samsung’s mobile division chief Koh Dong-jin said at a media event in Taiwan in July that the cumulative sales of the S8 are 15 percent higher than that of the preceding Galaxy S7 within three months since the March 11 release last year. Additionally, in a conference, the company also said, in some global market the Galaxy S8 was sold as double of the S7.
This sales volume has generated the operating profit in the second quarter, at 4.06 trillion won (US$3.6 billion), surpassed the 4-trillion-won threshold for the first time since the second quarter last year thanks partly to the S8’s robust sales, overcoming the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco caused by faulty batteries.
Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see how next flagship will do in coming days. The company has announced the Note 8 event on August 23rd which would then be released in September.
Talking about sales in Nepal, it also has done pretty well. Samsung also has come up with different bundle offer for its customers. Recently the company has introduced new scheme “Galaxy S8 Unbox 8 Benefits“
