Xiaomi has unveiled the launch date of their new Redmi devices, December 7, 2017, in China. The company announced the launch date on Weibo. The company decides to launch Redmi 5 & Redmi 5 Plus with 18:9 (2:1) aspect ratio display.
However, the company has not revealed the specifications, the previous leaks and TEENA also listed a couple of names MDE1 and MDT1 smartphone, which looks like the Redmi 5 & Redmi 5 Plus, with 5.7-inches and 5.99-inches respectively, HD+ display.
Moreover, with a large screen and fewer bezels, the hardware capacitive buttons might have been replacing on-screen buttons.
The Redmi 5 is expected to have 5.7 inches 1440X720 pixel resolution, 2:1 aspect ratio. It will be powered by Snapdragon 450 processor, under the hood. Similarly, the phone packs 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There will also be another variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Talking about the camera, it will come with a 12-megapixel sensor at the rear and a 5-megapixel camera for selfies.
On the other hand, the Redmi 5 Plus might have 5.99-inches screen, with the FHD+ resolution of 2160X1080 pixels and 18:9 aspect ration. Under the hood, the Redmi 5 Plus will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, same as of Redmi Note 4.
The Redmi 5 Plus might have a Dual camera setup at the rear, featuring 12-megapixel at the rear and 5 megapixels for selfies.
Both the devices might have Android &.1 Nougat, MIUI 9 on the top.
Talking about the pricing, Redmi 5 is reportedly going to be priced at 699 Yuan (approximately Rs. 11024 approximately) while the Redmi 5 Plus could be priced at 999 Yuan (approximately Rs. 16000).
