One of the heavily marketed smartphones even before launch, the OPPO F5 is finally revealed yesterday, in an event. As the company was advertising the phone already, all the specs and design was already known, so the launch was not so exciting.
The successor to the Oppo F3, the Oppo F5 is launched, with fingerprint button at the rear. If you feel little bit discomfort reaching the fingerprint scanner at the rear, the Oppo F5 also supports face unlock. However, the company warns that the Face Unlock is not secured as the fingerprint readers.
The phone is 6-inch tall, with LCD display, 1080X2160 pixel resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. If we sneak into the phone, we will see Octa-core Mediatek MT6763T Helio P23 processor, alongside with either 4GB or 6GB RAM.
The phone comes with 32GB/64GB of internal storage, expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. To back the internals, it has a 3200mAh non-removable battery inside. And it runs on Android 7.0 Nougat (upgradable to Android 8). The new teaser from Oppo also reveals that the F5 will come in Red, Black, and White colors.

In the optics department, it packs a 16-megapixel camera at the rear and 20-megapixels for the selfies. Of course, Oppo F5 will be a selfie-focused phone. The phone inherits core OPPO photography technology with AI-Powered Selfie on the front camera and optimized rear camera to capture life’s fun moments. Basically, the Oppo F5 will highlight features like eyes, nose, jawline or cheekbones in selfies. So, we have to wait until the company reveals the phone.
OPPO has made no mention of international availability yet, but it goes on sale Friday in the Philippines for 15,990 PHP, roughly Rs. 35,000.
