After announcing the OPPO A75 and A75s duo in Taiwan, the company returned to China to unveil the OPPO A83.
The OPPO A83 is very similar to A75 in terms of design. However, the fingerprint scanner is missing from the device. Following the path of iPhone X, the OPPO A83 also ditched the fingerprint scanner to Face Unlock.
Design-wise, the phone has very thin bezels on the front. Sensors, mic and selfie camera at the top and nothing more than that. On the back, primary camera at the top right corner with a LED flash and OPPO logo in the middle. Similarly, volume rocker on the left and power button on the right side of the phone.
The phone comes with a 5.7-inch HD+ display, with the 720X1440 pixel resolution. Under the metallic hood, the phone packs a 2.5GHz octa-core processor, probably they used the MediaTek MT M6763T Helio P23 because the company is silent about the processor.
Talking about the camera, OPPO A83 has a 13-megapixel shooter at the rear and an 8-megapixel sensor for the selfies with Beauty Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Actually, the company chose to keep the Facial Recognition feature to unlock the device, ditching the fingerprint scanner. The company also claims, the phone scans for 128 different facial features and unlocks in 0.18 seconds, whereas the OnePlus 5T does it in just 0.4 seconds, which give you an idea, how fast is it? 😉Â
The phone runs on Colors OS 3.2 and to back up the internals it comes with non-removable 3180mAh battery. The A83 comes in Champagne and Black colors, similar to A75. And it is priced at ~$214 (Rs. 25,000 approximately) and will go on sales from 29 December 2017.
