There were rumors that the Nokia and Xiaomi were in talks in recent times. However, the reason behind the talk was not clear. But now, the sources said that the corporations have signed a partnership and will reveal the details in the future.
The good news is that we won’t have to wait to find out what the partnership is about. Leakster @Reviewer_ 小康 took to Weibo last night to disclose what Nokia and Xiaomi are up to.
According to Reviewer, the new Nokia will use Xiaomi’s Surge S1 processor in their upcoming smartphones. However, the smartphone was not specified but we can expect it will be mid-range ones.
The collaboration that will make Nokia is with a fairly similar company, as it has the same strategy: Xiaomi is one of the companies that always seeks to provide best user experience to its users by its layer of customization and hardware, while in other sections like multimedia does not stand out so much.
The Surge S1 is an octa-core processor with 4 x Cortex A53 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and another four clocked at 1.4GHz. These are power-efficient cores so battery life will be impressive.
So, the Surge S1 is direct competition with Helio P20 and Snapdragon 625. The Xiaomi next processor with being of 16 nanometers, a processor that could surpass in everything to Snapdragon and MediaTek.
Nevertheless, it’s quite an achievement for Xiaomi, as another brand will sue their chipset, which started its business by copying the iPhone.
