Well, have you ever dropped your iPhone in water? If you have its time to say goodbye to your phone. Isn’t it? However, a man from Pennsylvania, Michael Guntrum who dropped his iPhone 4 while ice fishing in March 2015 had recently got back his device.
Michael Guntrum lost his iPhone 4 while ice fishing in Kyle Lake when his handset slipped from his grip and sank to the bottom of the lake. Kyle Lake was drained in September 2015 because of some structural problems with its dam, there was no sign of the iPhone 4.
Actually, another man Daniel Kalgern who was walking near Kyle Lake’s basin with a metal detector found the lost iPhone. The phone was buried 6 inches underneath the clay and mud. However, thanks to the sturdy OtterBox cover, securing it.
Then Daniel took it to his home and cleaned it and dunked it in some rice. He dunked the phone in rice for a couple of days and charge it again and it worked.
After the phone was switched on, Daniel got the owners phone number and called him to give the news. Daniel Kalgerm mailed the handset to Michael Guntrum. Michael Guntrum said: “I had just been talking about that lake early that day. It was eerie. He sent me a picture and asked, ‘Does this look familiar?”
Though the iPhone 4 is not water-resistant, it is still a mystery how the device survived inside water. We guess that OtterBox case helped it a bit.
