Once Apple’s co-founder Steve Jobs said:
“I will spend my last dying breath if I need to, and I will spend every penny of Apple’s $40 billion in the bank, to right this wrong,” Jobs said. “I’m going to destroy Android because it’s a stolen product. I’m willing to go thermonuclear war on this.”
And now, the Huawei wants to take down the Apple in next two years. According to Reuters, Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s consumer business group said, at an event in Munich:
“We are going to take them (Apple) step-by-step, innovation-by-innovation, adding “there will be more opportunities. Artificial Intelligence, virtual reality, augmented reality.”
The Huawei, currently is the third largest company, manufacturing smartphones just behind the Apple and first Samsung. It shipped 33.6 million of devices, giving it a 9% of market share in the third quarter.
As the Samsung’s Note 7 failed so badly and the Apple’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus dropped by 5% on shipments, compared to Q3 last year, the Huawei could take the opportunity to expand its supply.
With this statement of the CEO of Huawei, it seems they are really serious about the leading the competition.
Alongside with the CEO’s statement, the Huawei also launched two new smartphones, Mate 9 and Mate 9 Porsche Design.
With the new phone, dubbed Mate 9, Yu expects to make a break in European markets such as Germany, France and Great Britain. “In Finland, we are already number one,” he said.
However, we have to wait for two years see what really happens. And two years of time in not long, Samsung and Apple has to be very careful. They really need to innovate something new as soon as possible. The Huawei seems very rigid.
So, what do you think, will Huawei overtake the Apple in next two years. Share your thoughts in the comment box below.
