Huawei sold 9 million unit of its flagship Huawei P9 smartphone, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer announced at a press event 10 November 2016.
Huawei announced that it has achieved 6 million sales of Huawei P9 in September. However, extra 3 million unit sales are acceptable. The phone did well in the home country and thanks to significant marketing it sold quite well in other regions also.
The Huawei launched the P9 in April of this year. We can expect the sale will even rise in coming days.
Though initially, the phone was available in single color, later on, IFA 2016 in September, Huawei announced two new colors. Metallic red and metallic blues, which contributed in the significantly in the sale of those extra 3 million units.
This is a big milestone for Huawei, as it struggled back during its initial breakthrough in the international market.
Recently, Huawei announced new Mate 9 and Mate 9 Porsche design smartphones, the latest in its flagship phablet series. This could be the tough competition for the Samsung Note series and perfect opportunity as the Note 7 is canceled. However, the Porsche design is incredibly expensive, costing around NRs. 163, 000.
Huawei’s CEO Richard Yu said, “they will take over Apple in next two years”. The company is the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the world behind Samsung and Apple. It for sure that this Scenario is going to change in next year, as the Samsung had to cancel the Note 7. But, either it will be Apple or the Huawei.
