Honor unveiled its latest flagship, the Huawei Honor V10 at an event in China. The Honor V10 follows “Full View ” display with the aspect ratio of 18:9 (2:1). A smartphone without slim bezels, they will not be seen as flagship smartphone, the Honor V10 delivers in this regard.
Talking about the phone, it is 5.99-inch LCD panel, Full HD+ display, with the 2160X1080 pixel resolution. However, the phone is not truly a bezel-less, though they were able to fit fingerprint scanner despite relatively the high screen-to-body ration.
Under the hood, the Honor V10 has Octo-core HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset, which is custom chipset of Huwai. The phone will come with different variants, 4GB /64GB and 6GB/128GB, the storage can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.
In the optics department, the Honor V10 features Huawei’s now-standard dual camera suite, ditching the Leica branding. There is a couple of camera at the rear, 16-megapixel color, and 20-megapixel monochrome sensors.
The selfie camera is a 12-megapixel shooter, that is optimized for facial recognition security mode. That means the front camera uses an AI that will notice when another person is using your phone and will obscure incoming call and notifications. Some claims that the front-facing camera and AI is the copy of iPhone X. Upfront sensors VCSEL Projector, IR camera and two RGB LED’s are included.
Similarly, the Huawei Honor V10 also packed its own version of Apple’s “Animojis”. Though the characters are not same, the Honor claims that its version is even better than Apple’s.
The Huawei Honor V10 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out the box, Huawei’s EMUI 8.0 skin on the top. To back up the internals, it has a 3750mAh non-removable battery, support fast charging (from 0 to 50% in half an hour).
