One of the Chinese phone manufacturers, famous for its premium flagship devices at the mid-range price, Huawei Honor. Honor has launched next generation Honor 9 at an event in China
The Honor 9 has 5.15in 1080p display with DCI-P3 color space which was also used on iPhone 7 and Galaxy S8. The device is running on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.1 on top of it.
At the event, the company has also launched its own payment solution, Huawei Pay.
The Honor 9 is powered by HiSilicon’s premium Kirin 960 chipset; this is same chipset powering Mate 9 and Huawei P10. 6GB of RAM is supporting the chipset for better performance, which is more than the flagship from the Huawei. You can choose the storage option of 64GB and 128Gb which can be extended with the microSD card. You can choose dual SIM or microSD and SIM on the Hybrid SIM slot.
There is the combo of 12MP and 20MP dual camera on the rear of the phone with the features like 2x optical zoom, portrait, and bokeh mode. On the front, this is an 8MP camera for the selfie. At the event, the company has also launched its own payment solution, Huawei Pay. The Honor 9 will be the first phone to support Huawei Pay( it works over NFC). Addition connectivity includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi ac, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The phone comes in the metal body with glass back. And has the color option of Grey, Blue, and Amber Gold. There is 3200mAh battery to power the phone.
Honor 9 will be available only in China for now from June 16. The 64GB variant is priced at CNY 2700 ($400/€355) and the 126GB variant is priced at CNY 3000 ($440/€395).
