Just a week ago, Jim Xu, Consumer Business President of Huawei confirmed the gaming smartphone from the company. However, we expect such gaming smartphone won’t come cheap. But, the company has its own idea about what will the new generation of mobile gamers flock to its smartphones, which doesn’t involve buying the new model. The company is pretty near to optimize a software update that will boost the efficiency of the GPU by 60% and cut down on battery consumption by 30%, with GPU Turbo software update. So, how much does it cost? Literally, zero, if you already own a Huawei or an Honor smartphone.
The software update will be called, the GPU Turbo, that will boost the GPU’s ability even in the mid-range phone. After the update, the mid-range device will be able to run games at the higher frame rate and HDR+ visual effects. Besides, the company also believes some of the Honors phones with simple GPUS can outperform phones with stronger GPUS.
GPU Turbo is a graphics processing acceleration technology that completely re-architects how graphics are processed on a system level. That means, gaming will be notably faster and consume less battery to do it, hence increasing battery backup time. As the battery consumption is lower, the cooler will be the smartphones. However, the company has not spoken about how they have managed to do so? Nevertheless, with this update, the user experience will sure boost high.
How do I get GPU Turbo?
For now, Honor 10 will be the first smartphone in line up for the update, which is heading into early August. The Honor 10 is available in Europe (Including Russia), Asia Pacific, India, and Middle East regions. Similarly, Huawei P20 and P20 Pro, Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro will also get the update in early August. For rest of the devices, the update will be released in September or late November, including Nova 2i, which is also the most selling Quad-camera smartphone in Nepal.
